  • How can an international alliance of universities build a shared vision for entrepreneurial education? #HEInnovate – a self-assessment tool for institutional transformation, co-led by PPMI (part of the Verian Group) – continues to support higher education institutions across Europe in shaping strategic development. One of the most innovative applications comes from the U!REKA Alliance, a partnership of urban universities committed to collaboration and societal impact. Led by Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, the U!REKA consortium used the HEInnovate self-assessment not just at the individual institution level, but to spark alliance-wide discussions across eight universities by: ? Conducting HEInnovate self-assessments in eight partner institutions ? Using results to guide strategic planning in the U!REKA SHIFT project ? Identifying shared priorities around innovation, sustainability, and inclusion ? Creating a community of practice to foster ongoing exchange. “HEInnovate gave us a common language and framework. It helped partner institutions reflect together and define a roadmap for change.” This is one of the first examples of HEInnovate being applied in an alliance-wide context – demonstrating its value as both an internal and collective development tool. Well done to the U!REKA partners for showing how transnational collaboration can benefit from structured self-reflection, and to all HEIs using HEInnovate to build stronger, more entrepreneurial institutions – together. • This summer, our team gathered in Lithuania to participate in an experience that was as meaningful as it was memorable. Inspired by the theme?“Where Past Meets Future,”?we travelled back to the time of Baltic pagan traditions - celebrating our ancestral roots while embracing the modern, diverse spirit that defines PPM (part of the Verian Group) today. From ancient rituals like casting amber ashes into the fire and symbolic effigy burning, to activities shaped by today’s innovations- customising AI toy boxes, enjoying sports, wellness sessions, and even a visit from a fortune teller - the day brought together tradition and technology in perfect harmony. As an international team, we were especially proud to welcome colleagues from across the globe. Hospitality and inclusivity are part of who we are, and we make it a point to ensure everyone feels at home - whether they're working remotely or joining us here in Vilnius. Our summer gathering is just one of the many ways we invest in building a strong, supportive culture where every voice is valued. We believe that celebrating diversity, staying curious about our roots, and looking ahead with creativity are not only good for people but also for the impact we aim for. ?? Have a look at the moments we captured - and take a step back (and forward) in time with us. #PPMI #Verian #TeamCulture #InclusiveWorkplace #CompanyValues #SummerEvent #WherePastMeetsFuture #DiversityAndInclusion #Vilnius #WorkplaceWellbeing #EmployeeExperience #Research #AI

I am happy to share that our support study for the interim evaluation of the European Education Area (2021-2030) strategic framework has been published. This has been a major effort by a large team behind the study - full of challenges and professional growth. Education and training systems across the EU continue to face significant challenges - equal access to high quality education, achievement of basic skills, limited participation in adult learning, just to name a few. Major reforms in education and training are difficult to implement due to challenging baseline situations, stakeholder interests, and capacity constraints. Drawing on shared experiences and following principles of evidence-informed policymaking throughout the entire reform cycle - including implementation - is crucial for better-functioning systems. Our study examined how instruments under the European Education Area strategic framework have supported efforts to advance education and training across the EU, including through mutual learning, enabling access to funding, setting shared targets, producing knowledge on how to implement changes successfully. The study was commissioned by the European Commission's DG EAC and implemented by PPMI | Part of the Verian Group | Verian Group.

An excellent interactive tool launched by Pathways2Resilience where PPMI | Part of the Verian Group participates as a partner. Great work by Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre who has led the development of the tool. The tool allows you to map and analyse climate risks faced by the regions participating in the P2R programme. What seems especially relevant to me is that one can group regions in terms of risks and see how different regions are tackling the same risks - this helps to find peers who you can learn from. PPMI team was happy to contribute to the analysis and description of risks, as well as description of the actions taken by the regions to address these risks. • Can a rural university become a gateway to Europe for its students and region? At the Polytechnic University of Viana do Castelo in Portugal, the answer is yes. Through #HEInnovate, a project co-led by PPMI (part of the Verian Group),?the university is using entrepreneurship and innovation to connect local challenges with European cooperation and bring global perspectives to a rural setting. Led by Pro President Dr Ana Teresa Ferreira Oliveira, the university has: ? Built a community of practice among teachers to embed innovation in teaching ? Integrated HEInnovate into course assessment and real-world problem-solving ? Collaborated with over 60 organisations to develop socially impactful projects ? Initiated an international co-teaching network, born from the "Train the Trainers" workshop ? Designed an “immersive week” where students tackle challenges from local municipalities using innovation-based approaches. Congratulations to Ana Teresa and the entire team at Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo for showing how regional universities can become innovation hubs and to all HEIs using HEInnovate to bridge local needs with international opportunity.
